The plan was to revive and newly open a dental clinic building that was built 30 years ago by his aunt, a dentist, and had been dormant for some time. Although the building before renovation was a steel-frame structure with a dome roof, the interior was decorated in such a way that the form of the roof and the volume of the space could not be perceived from the inside. After dismantling the ceiling, it was found that there were many braces and structural members with a strong presence, which were utilized as forms to create a cool and clean atmosphere in the examination rooms. The waiting room was designed to have a relaxing atmosphere with wooden elements. The glass blocks, which seemed to be in vogue at the time of the new construction, were fitted with shoji-like lattices from the inside, and the entire space was brought together in a Japanese style to provide a fresh image by confronting the steel-frame structural members.
